Management of SIM cards and M2M solutions is easily handled through the Com4 Web-Portal. Here you have the option of both managing subscriptions and taking advantage of advanced features. Modules can also be implemented into your own systems using our API, so that management becomes a part of the routines already in place.


In the Web-portal there are several options for activating an M2M SIM, which ensures a quick and secure activation process, both when activating a single SIM, or several thousands. The SIM card is also equipped with a bar-code which makes it easy to scan the SIM number(ICCID) into the portal with a bar-code reader if needed.

For big rollouts, automatic activation is necessary, where payment starts after the SIM card is put into use. This makes it possible to efficiently install at a factory, and at the same time avoid unnecessary costs for SIMs lying in storage. You can also update products, add a fixed IP-address or establish a customer-specific APN in the portal.


You can create your own groups with SIM cards in the portal, and each SIM can be given a name. This makes it easier to keep track, and is a requirement if you have many SIM cards in your solution. This is a great tool for billing, as you can easily create reports for your SIM groups, and even break down your bill and split it on the groups.

Within M2M and IoT there is often talk of many SIM cards, and it can be challenging to keep track. You can group SIMs based on location, department name, contact persons, projects or whatever you may wish to use as a group name. If you are a reseller of Com4’s services you can register groups under your company, with company name and contact info, and give your customers access to view their active SIM cards in the portal.


Another important area for securing control over the M2M solution is the use of alarms.
If an incident occurs you need to be warned, as there is rarely a human being monitoring the machine. Com4’s platform includes an alarm module where you can setup different forms of monitoring, with different warnings depending on how critical the incident is. Examples on alarms can be that over usage is imminent, or something similar.


Localization is a great service for you who wants to keep track of the whereabouts of your devices, without having to utilize GPS. This can be applicable if the solution does not have a GPS, or as a secondary option to locate devices if there are any GPS-problems. This service gives you real-time information about location for all devices with a Com4 M2M SIM card. The service use advanced triangulation methods and maps coordinates onto a map which shows the position in a user-friendly way in the portal. The precision of the location will be dependent on the coverage in the area.


With Com4 Web-Portal it is easy to retrieve different reports which ensures you have updated information. This information gives you an overview, and the possibility to adjust your M2M subscriptions based on actual usage and need. Examples of available reports are amongst others; usage-statistics per SIM or group, details broken down to individual sessions or invoice history.

The interface is meant to enable integrating functionality into your systems, so that they become part of the routines already in place.
