The M2M SIM card built for teams who want full control

Connect M2M and IoT devices across 750+ networks in 190+ countries with one non-steered global SIM. Com4 supports 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and 5G on both traditional SIM and eUICC/SGP.32 architectures, with the signal quality, visibility, and freedom your fleet needs to run for years, not months.

Global Coverage

One SIM, the strongest signal in every market

Com4's IoT SIM cards are carrier-agnostic and non-steered: a device attaches to the network with the strongest, most reliable signal available wherever it is, not the network a traditional single-carrier SIM would default to. Multiple network operators are available per country for resilience, and eUICC lets you provision new profiles remotely, Over-the-Air, without a truck roll or a card swap.

  • Centralized device control through Polaris CMP
  • Built for developers with REST APIs, webhooks, and STOMP streaming
  • Secure by design: TLS encryption, RBAC, audit logs, hosted in Norwegian data centers

Why It Wins at Scale

Why teams running global M2M fleets choose Com4

An M2M SIM has one job: keep devices connected wherever they operate, for as long as they're in the field. Here's what that takes.
Multiple simcards
Expand without new contracts

Enter a new market with the same SIM and the same SKU for every device. No local carrier negotiations, no new supply chains to manage.

Mobile-mast
Best available signal, everywhere

Non-steered network selection means fewer dead zones and faster registration, wherever a device travels

Chart low 1
Control cost and behavior

Pay only for the data you use, from market-based rates starting at €0.001/MB. Choose pay-as-you-go or data pooling, with no minimum contract durations and no hidden costs

Swap
Freedom to switch operators

Stay in control of your connectivity. If your needs evolve, you can change operators without being locked into a single carrier relationship

Sim
One profile, ready out of the box

Com4 SIMs can be delivered pre-activated, so devices connect the moment they're powered on, with no manual activation step in a connectivity platform.

Router
Deep roaming expertise

Permanent roaming is a core area of Com4's expertise, including navigating country-specific regulations and operator agreements for long-term international deployments.

Device Diagnostics

See into the network and every device

Catch issues before they turn into support escalations. Polaris CMP gives you direct network-level visibility into device status and connectivity behavior, so you can troubleshoot without a site visit or a support ticket.

  • Full network insights: real-time visibility into connectivity status, device activity, and data usage across all networks
  • SIM diagnostics & troubleshooting: advanced tools to quickly identify and resolve connectivity issues
  • Smart alerts: automated monitoring with real-time notifications for IMEI mismatches, unusual usage, or SIM state changes
  • Advanced insight tools: dashboards and reports that turn network performance and device behavior into decisions
Step-by-Step:

How Com4's M2M Connectivity Works

01. Order your SIMs

Start with a free M2M test SIM to validate on your own hardware, or request pricing for production volumes. Choose the form factor your device needs: 2FF/3FF/4FF plastic, MFF2 embedded, or iSIM software-based connectivity.

02. Receive pre-activated, ready-to-connect SIMs

Depending on your order configuration, SIMs can be delivered pre-activated. Devices connect to the network as soon as they're powered on, with no manual activation step required, which matters most in large-scale roll-outs or installations handled by third parties.

03. Manage everything from Polaris CMP

Log in to the Com4 portal (cmp.com4.no) or connect via the REST API to see every SIM and device in one place. Apply policies, group devices, and set rate plans across your entire fleet from a single pane of glass.

04. Set rules, alerts, and cost controls

Define thresholds for data usage, connectivity status, or device behavior directly in Polaris CMP. When a condition is triggered, for example a SIM crossing a data cap, the platform can notify you by email or webhook, or automatically pause the subscription.

05. Monitor in real time

Use the diagnostics and insight tools to watch device activity, data usage, and network status live. Drill down to an individual SIM to troubleshoot a specific device without leaving the dashboard.

06. Manage the full device lifecycle

Suspend SIMs when devices are inactive or in storage, reactivate instantly when they're deployed, and adjust usage policies as devices move from pilot to production to decommission, all without recalling hardware.

07. Scale with the freedom to switch

As your fleet grows into new markets, ship the same SIM and SKU everywhere Com4 has coverage. If your needs change, you keep the freedom to change operators rather than being locked into one carrier relationship.

Control Your Costs

Cost that tracks usage, not surprises

You pay for the data your devices actually use. There are no minimum contract durations, and you can upgrade, downgrade, or pause subscriptions at your convenience.
  • Usage-based pricing from market-based rates starting at €0.001/MB, with volume discounts and customized pricing for large-scale deployments
  • Pay-as-you-go or data pooling, so you only pay for active SIMs and shared data across your fleet
  • Alerts before overage, not bills after: usage thresholds and alerts help catch spikes early, backed by advisory support from Com4's IoT specialists
  • No minimum contracts: freely upgrade, downgrade, or pause subscriptions as your deployment evolves

Every form factor, one global profile

Pick the format your hardware needs. The connectivity behind it is exactly the same, whether you're running a pilot batch or millions of connections.

All SIMs support class A (5V), B (3V), and C (1.8V) supply voltages, and industrial-grade variants are built for 10+ years of maintenance-free operation. Com4 was the first IoT operator in Europe to implement GSMA-compliant eUICC eSIM subscription management, and executed Europe's first successful IoT SIM profile swap.

Your Questions About the M2M SIM card

What is an M2M SIM card?

An M2M (machine-to-machine) SIM card is a specialized SIM designed for connected devices rather than phones. Unlike consumer SIMs used for calls and texting, M2M SIM cards are optimized for data transmission and machine-to-machine communication, with larger memory capacity and greater durability for harsh environments.

How is an M2M SIM different from a roaming or reseller SIM?

Com4's M2M SIMs are carrier-agnostic and non-steered, connecting to the network with the strongest available signal in each location rather than a single default carrier. Com4 also has deep expertise in permanent roaming, including country-specific regulations and operator agreements, which is essential for long-term international deployments.

Which network technologies and form factors are supported?

Com4 supports 2G, 3G, 4G, LTE-M, NB-IoT, and 5G, across 2FF, 3FF, 4FF, and MFF2 embedded form factors, plus iSIM for software-based connectivity. Both commercial and industrial grades are available.

Are Com4 SIMs delivered pre-activated?

Yes, depending on how your order is configured, Com4 IoT SIMs can be delivered pre-activated and ready for immediate use, reducing deployment complexity for large-scale roll-outs.

Can I suspend, reactivate, or manage SIMs during the device lifecycle?

Yes. Through Polaris CMP, customers can suspend SIMs when devices are inactive or stored, reactivate them instantly when needed, and adjust usage policies as devices move through different lifecycle stages.

How does Com4 help prevent unexpected data overage costs?

Com4 provides proactive cost control through continuous monitoring, usage policies, alerts, and advisory support from IoT specialists, giving you visibility into consumption across all devices before costs spike.
