The Solution: A “vending machine” for power

NexCharge’s innovation is elegantly simple: a self-contained charging station that can be placed almost anywhere and used by anyone. Users scan the QR code on the station, choose how long they need, and pay straight from their phone’s browser – no app or account required. The optional NexCharge app adds a map of nearby units, reservations, and invoices.

Stations can connect to existing electrical networks or integrate with solar panels and battery storage for remote, off-grid operation. Obajtek proudly notes: “We even tested a unit on a mountaintop near the Slovakian border – snow, wind, freezing temperatures – and it still connected and charged perfectly.”

Each station can generate income for the host location, such as a café, city park, or shopping mall. NexCharge handles the network and payments, while the host receives a share of charging revenue and a refund for energy use.

Inside every station, Com4’s eSIM provides the vital link between device and cloud. This connection enables everything from user activation and session logging to remote diagnostics and real-time service monitoring.

“Com4 provides communication between my units and the system,” Obajtek explains. “It allows users to activate charging and helps us remotely diagnose or restart a station if needed. The Com4 SIM is like a remote control for each charger.”

Each unit sends a “heartbeat” every few seconds. If something malfunctions or goes offline, NexCharge’s system detects it instantly. Many issues can be fixed remotely – reducing downtime, service costs, and carbon footprint.

Because Com4’s network operates across hundreds of mobile carriers in nearly 190 countries, NexCharge can deploy stations anywhere without local setup. No Wi-Fi, no manual SIM configuration; just plug, power, and connect.

Results and ambitions

Though still in its startup phase, NexCharge is already running pilot installations in Poland, with plans to expand across Europe and beyond. The solution’s plug-and-play scalability means each new site can be installed in minutes and activated remotely through Com4’s network.

The company’s patented technology covers most of Europe, with expansion into the US, Canada, and Asia-Pacific now under way. NexCharge is also developing partnerships with renewable energy providers to create solar-powered, off-grid charging packages for businesses and municipalities.

“This is a global need, not just local,” says Obajtek. “People everywhere need small-scale, sustainable power options.”
